We’re just eight miles south of Interstate 80 and 53 miles east of Interstate 35.

We’re just a half hour from small market centers like Grinnell, Newton and Oskaloosa.

Larger markets are an hour or so away, like Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Marshalltown and Ottumwa.

Safety

Violent crime is almost non-existent here!

If you want to walk across town here, you can do it safely.

The interstate highway is eight miles away!

Montezuma still has:

Kids who look like ones that Norman Rockwell used to paint.
A soda fountain.
A locally-owned pharmacy.
Two locally-owned banks.
A medical clinic, staffed by local people.
Home-owned industries.
A school system that still has just “Montezuma” in its name.
Municipal utilities. We can generate our own juice here. When the lights go out around us, they stay on here.
