How to use Food Pantry, Clothing Center

The Montezuma Food Pantry and Clothing Center is now open at 411 East Main Street, downtown Montezuma, in the former senior center and congregate meals site.

It’s part of Montezuma Community Services, which are operated by Montezuma area churches. Virgil Scott, a retired pastor who heads up the food pantry, said he chose the “Montezuma Community Services” banner name because he foresees that up to a half-dozen services eventually could be run by the local churches.

What we’ve done below is to publish the text of the food pantry’s brochure. We thought some people might read it online who perhaps are shy about coming in the first time. The food pantry and clothes closet are there to be used!

Montezuma Food Pantry Guidelines

We have many families in need of help with groceries. For us to help as many people as possible, we ask that you follow the guidelines below:

Household Size
Some items may be limited per household. This will assure that all households will receive the same items each month. Thank you for your cooperation.

The Clothing Center may be used as often as you need. There is no charge for the clothing.

The Food Pantry is sponsored by the local area churches. Food and other supplies are provided by donations. We are not government-funded. If you do not already have a church family, we invite you and your family to visit one of the churches in our community. Our God is truly as awesome God!

You are welcome to use the Food Pantry once a month. However, if you experience an emergency or have special needs, please call:
