'Fishing for Victory' wins scarecrow contest

Winners have been named in the 2009 Scarecrow Contest, sponsored by the Montezuma Community Boosters.
First place - "Fishing for Victory," by Shirley McClurg and Jolene Treiner.
Second place - "It's Easy to be Green," by the Poweshiek County Extension Office.
Third place - "Hope," by Manestreet Hair Designers.
Fourth place - "Galilee Fisherman" by United Methodist youth group.
Fifth place - tie, "Fern," by Peoples Savings Bank and "Nohea, Hawaiian for Loveliness," by The Red Hot Red Hat Ladies.
Honorable mention - "C.F. Clunker, Cash for Clunkers," by Vannoy Chevrolet.
The contest was judged by Marcia Kivi, Dana Coleman and Laura Nelson. The Boosters provided cash prizes for the contest.
